Claudia S. de Windt
International lawyer and expert in political sciences with significant practical experience in the field of sustainable development, climate and environmental social governance (ESG). She is the Chief Executive and a founder of the Inter-American Institute on Justice and Sustainability (IIJS). Her areas of expertise include, environmental rule of law and justice, human rights, biodiversity, finance and development projects and multi-stakeholder processes. Has demonstrated leadership and management expertise in development operations with focus on complex issues related to trade, investment and conflict, public participation, accountability mechanisms and the rights-based approach in the 2030 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. Recognized trajectory in sustainability diplomacy and the works and operations of international organizations, in the UN and Inter-American System, as well as with financial and corporate institutions. Professor at globally renowned academic faculties, judicial and prosecutorial academies. Published author. Recipient of various awards and appointed in internationally recognized high-level advisory positions, boards and expert groups including for international treaty dispute resolution amongst other distinctions.de Windt has a Juris Doctor Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) a master’s in international legal studies from American University, Washington College of Law and a certificate in Negotiations from the Harvard School of Law.
